SST - SYFC Open House & Previous Weeks

I haven't been updating my blog due to the massive amount of planning as well as school work, Thus, I will update everything in one shot. For the past few weeks, we have been discussing on how to carry out the open house and planning on that. Also, I went with 9 other members and Mr Tan Hoe Teck to Sim Lim Square to purchase 9 joysticks. Each joystick cost $59 and we needed a minimum of 9. Luckily, Mr Tan pointed out that the amount of budget we had ($500) excluded GST as the GST was covered by MINDEF Singapore. Now, with 12 joysticks, we can let 2 full squadrons practice flight simulation simultaneously.

Just yesterday while trying to construct the RC (Radio Control) Planes, we found a ton of manufacturing defects and sent them back to complain. I was a bit disappointed to find out that we couldn't construct the planes.

Today, we discussed on designing and syfc shirt, that looks something like a SAF uniform but is only limited to SST's SYFC.

Today was also the open house, in which I was stationed at the SYFC's booth most of the time. We had flight simulation activities and me and a group of friends help answer the parent's questions, whether or not they were regarding SYFC. It was an honor to have the opportunity to be part of it as I did not have a chance to be there. Also, Mr Tan left the planning of the booth solely to me, which means no one, including the teachers and staff would not disrupt any of our plans (including the borrowing of items and arrangement of furniture, activities and division of manpower in out booth) as long as we kept to our designated area, the indoor sports hall.

To all parents that came for the School of Science and Technology, Singapore's open house, I hope that you and your child have enjoyed the visit and would consider your sending your child to SST.
